How to Inspect Whether a Fiber Patch Cord Is Qualified

An insertion & return loss tester is required for testing. First, use a fiber light pen to check light conduction of the patch cord and confirm the fiber has no breakage before measuring performance indicators.

Standard carrier-grade specifications: Insertion loss less than 0.3 dB, return loss greater than 45 dB.

Performance tests for fiber patch cords cover optical performance inspection, fiber end-face geometry inspection, fiber end-face scratch inspection, fiber tensile strength test, environmental temperature cycling test and other items.
