The quality identification of UPC jumpers can be judged from the following dimensions:
1. Core optical performance identification
Insertion loss: Measured with a return loss tester, high-quality UPC jumpers are ≤0.1dB, and regular qualified models are ≤0.3dB.
Return loss: The measured value of single-mode UPC jumper must be ≥50dB, and high-quality products can reach ≥55dB to avoid signal reflection interference.
2. End face process identification
Geometric parameters: radius of curvature 10~20mm, vertex offset ≤20μm, fiber height in the range of -0.05~+0.05μm, in line with IEC standards.
Appearance inspection: Observe with a 400x optical fiber microscope. There are no scratches, pits, or dust on the end surface, and the spherical surface is evenly polished without chipping.
3. Material and structure identification
Ferret Quality: Using Grade A zirconia ceramic ferrule, it will not become loose after repeated plugging and unplugging. The concentricity is ≤0.5μm to ensure precise docking of fiber cores.
Sheath and optical fiber: The wire body is flexible and resistant to bending, and has no pungent odor. The optical fiber complies with industry standards such as G.652D/G.657A.
4. Practical verification and identification
Continuity test: Use a red light pen to illuminate, there are no dark spots or breakpoints throughout the process, and the red light is evenly transmitted without local light leakage.
Environmental adaptation test: After a temperature cycle of -40℃~+85℃, the insertion loss fluctuation is ≤0.2dB, and the performance has no obvious attenuation.
