**Layer-stranded Cabling Twisting Production Process**

 

**Layer stranding process**

Layer stranding is the assembly process for manufacturing large-core layer-stranded optical cables after loose tube fiber assembly. The stranding machine arranges fiber-filled loose tubes, non-metal FRP rods and binding yarn around central strength member according to fixed pitch. Factory technicians set twisting pitch, twisting direction and tightening tension based on cable outer diameter and usage scenario. Reverse-direction layered twisting offsets torsion stress generated during cable bending, preventing loose tube twisting dislocation. After layer stranding, binding yarn wraps the whole cable core tightly to fix relative component position.

 

**Advantages of stranded processing**

Compared with central tube cables, stranded processing needs precise pitch debugging, which is the key process to guarantee mechanical stability of large-capacity communication optical cables.
