**Classification of Optical Cable Sheath Materials**

Outer sheath is the outermost protective layer of optical cable, and different sheath materials match different indoor and outdoor application scenarios.

**PE polyethylene sheath**: 

It's the most common outdoor material, featuring low cost, waterproof and anti-ultraviolet performance, applied to ordinary aerial, duct and direct-buried outdoor cables.

**MDPE**

MDPE modified polyethylene sheath strengthens anti-cracking and anti-soil corrosion performance, specially used for wet underground direct-buried cable projects. Sheath material selection is the key link of cable type selection in engineering design.

**LSZH**:

LSZH low smoke zero halogen sheath is high-grade environmental protection material, burning with no halogen toxic gas, low smoke density and flame retardant property, used for subway, building corridor and crowded public space.
