Tips
GYTS optical cable is a stranded steel tape armored outdoor communication optical cable, one of the most widely used basic optical cable types in domestic communication engineering. The following is a complete product introduction:
I. Basic Structural Features
Core Structure: Utilizes a reinforced loose tube structure. The optical fiber is covered by a loose tube filled with a waterproof compound, and a high-strength metal steel wire reinforcing core is set at the center of the cable core.
Armor Protection: The loose tube is longitudinally wrapped with double-sided plastic-coated steel tape, and the outermost layer is extruded with a high-density polyethylene outer sheath, forming a complete double-layer protection system.
Water-Blocking Design: All gaps in the cable core are filled with water-blocking filler, combined with fiber grease inside the loose tube, achieving full-section longitudinal water blocking to prevent moisture penetration and damage to the optical fiber.
II. Core Performance Parameters
Mechanical Properties: Long-term allowable tensile force ≥1000N, short-term up to 3000N, lateral pressure resistance up to 800N/10cm, excellent impact resistance.
Environmental Adaptability: Operating temperature range -40℃ to +70℃, with near-zero fiber optic attenuation and stable dispersion performance in high and low temperature environments.
Specification Coverage: Available in standard core counts from 2 to 288 cores, with cable outer diameters ranging from 13mm to 25mm depending on the core count, adapting to the size requirements of various laying scenarios.
III. Typical Applicable Scenarios: Primarily suitable for overhead laying scenarios, with strong lateral pressure resistance, able to withstand mechanical impacts and damage from birds in the wild.
Suitable for scenarios with high mechanical impact, such as mining areas and intercity trunk lines, as well as complex electromagnetic environments such as near substations, offering higher operational reliability.
Also supports duct laying, offering superior anti-bite capabilities compared to aluminum tape armored optical cables in direct burial scenarios with high rodent and insect populations.
IV. Selection Considerations: GYTS optical cables are 20%-30% more expensive than GYTA optical cables of the same specifications. In ordinary duct scenarios without special pressure resistance requirements, GYTA can be prioritized to control project costs.
When purchasing, the overlap rate of the steel strip armor layer must be verified to ensure that the armor layer completely covers the cable core and avoid local protection gaps that may affect the service life.
Both GYTS and GYTA optical cables support aerial installation. For standard light-load aerial scenarios, GYTA is the preferred choice, while GYTS is preferred for complex and harsh environments.
The appropriate model can be selected based on actual working conditions.
I. Comparison of Aerial Installation Compatibility of the Two Optical Cables
GYTA Aerial Cable Advantages:
* Employs an aluminum tape longitudinal wrapping structure, resulting in a lighter overall weight and less load-bearing pressure on the pole line during aerial installation.
* Possesses basic tensile and UV resistance properties, fully meeting the needs of ordinary urban and suburban aerial installation scenarios.
* Lower price for the same specifications, making it the mainstream procurement model in large-scale aerial projects such as centralized tower procurement, with a service life exceeding 30 years.
GYTS Aerial Cable Advantages:
* Steel tape armored structure provides stronger resistance to lateral pressure, impact, and rodent bites, offering superior protection in complex aerial environments such as the wild and mountainous areas.
* Higher mechanical strength, able to withstand additional external forces from strong winds, snow, and other extreme weather conditions, resulting in better operational stability.
II. Selection Recommendations for Overhead Cable Applications
* **Ordinary urban and suburban overhead cable applications without special external force risks:** Choose GYTA, which offers better cost-effectiveness and meets standard overhead cable requirements.
* **Overhead cable applications in the wild, mountainous areas, areas with high rodent infestation, or areas prone to extreme weather:** Choose GYTS, whose stronger armor protection significantly reduces the probability of cable breakage.
* **Long-span overhead cable applications:** Prioritize high-mechanical-strength models with metal reinforcing cores to prevent excessive stretching damage to the cable due to its own weight.
