Armored Fiber Optic Cable Single Mode
GYTS armored fiber optic cable which single mode fibers are housed in loose tubes that made of high-modulus plastic and tube with filling compound. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around a central strength member and surrounded with corrugated steel tape to form a cable core. An extremely outer PE sheath is extruded outside the core.

Tips
**Key Points for Duct Cable Installation**
**1. Duct and Conduit Requirements**
The following preparations shall be made before installing the duct cable:
**Conduit Selection Principles:**
- When the design does not specify the conduit position, conduits shall be used layer by layer **from bottom to top and from both sides towards the middle**.
- The conduit positions occupied by the cable in adjacent duct sections shall be relatively consistent to avoid switching from one side of the duct bank to the other.
- The conduit position selected along the same route should not be changed.
**Conduit Cleaning:** Before installation, the conduits shall be cleaned to ensure they are unobstructed.
**2. Sub-duct Installation**
When installing cables in large-diameter plastic ducts, plastic sub-ducts are typically used to improve conduit utilization and protect the cable:
| Item | Requirement |
| Sub-duct Material | Plastic tubing with good durability and environmental compatibility |
| Number of Sub-ducts | The total equivalent outer diameter of several sub-ducts should not exceed **85% to 90%** of the inner diameter of the main duct. |
| Sub-duct Inner Diameter | Should not be less than **1.5 times** the outer diameter of the cable. |
| Installation Method | Multiple sub-ducts within the same main duct shall be installed **in a single pull**. |
| Splice Requirement | Sub-ducts **shall have no splices** inside the main duct. |
| End Sealing | Unused sub-duct ends shall be sealed against water ingress. |
| Color Coding | Multiple sub-ducts within the same main duct should be distinguished by using different colors. |
**Sub-duct Protrusion Length:**
- Within manholes/handholes, the protrusion length of sub-ducts shall be **200mm to 400mm**.
- Within power ducts, the protrusion length of sub-ducts can be **150mm to 200mm**.
**3. Cable Installation Method**
Duct cables can be installed using mechanical pulling or manual pulling:
- The pulling tension for a single pull **shall not exceed the cable's allowable tensile strength**.
- After installation, the cable shall be **free from twisting, crossing, obvious scratches, or damage**.
- The cable **shall not be bent within 150mm** of exiting the conduit.
- At conduit bends or crossings with other obstacles, guiding devices or bell-mouth protective tubes shall be used for protection.
**4. Installation in Manholes/Handholes**
Cable installation within manholes/handholes shall meet the following requirements:
- The cable shall be **secured firmly** and should be protected with a plastic flexible tube (e.g., corrugated pipe).
- Cable splice closures shall be installed above the
year-round water level and supported by protective brackets.
- Cables **shall not pass directly through** a manhole.
- Reserved cable lengths shall be coiled according to bending radius requirements and securely fastened to brackets.
- **Cable identification signs or labels** shall be installed (a signboard shall be placed in every manhole).
- Cable splice closures shall be fixed to pre-embedded fittings on the manhole wall.
**5. Conduit Sealing**
After cable installation, the ends of both the main ducts and sub-ducts shall be sealed tightly as required by the design to prevent the ingress of water, vapor, and debris.
