Safety and On-Site Management

Fiber Shard Protection: Bare optical fibers are extremely fragile and can easily pierce the skin. Personnel should wear safety glasses with infrared filters during stripping and splicing. Keep the work area strictly free of food and drinks.

Laser Safety: Never look directly into the end of an optical fiber or connector unless you are absolutely certain that no laser light is present. Invisible laser radiation can cause irreversible eye damage.

Preventing Physical Damage: For direct-buried cables, backfill the trench promptly and ensure there are no sharp rocks. Strictly prohibit heavy vehicles from driving over the cable route during the construction phase.

Compliance and Environmental Protection

Safety Clearances: Adhere to strict safety distances when working near existing communication lines. Avoid building structures or planting trees within 2 meters of overhead lines, and prohibit drilling within 1 meter of underground cables.

Testing and Documentation: After installation, splicing, and connector termination, always use an optical power meter or OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) to test continuity and attenuation. Maintain detailed installation records for future maintenance and troubleshooting.
