**Difference Between Layer-stranded and Central Tube Optical Cable**

**Two mainstream internal structures**

Layer-stranded cable and central tube cable are two mainstream internal structures of outdoor communication optical cables, with different application scope.

**Central loose tube cable**

It puts all fibers inside one single central PBT tube, simple structure, low cost, good pressure resistance. It is suitable for small-core cables within 12 cores, applied to rural branch lines and roadside ordinary aerial wiring.

**Layer-stranded cable**

It arranges multiple independent loose tubes around central strength member in stranded mode. It has large fiber capacity, good tensile performance and convenient fiber maintenance. It can produce 24-core to 288-core large-capacity cables, specially used for urban backbone lines, operator core pipelines and large park networking.

On-site staff select structure type according to designed fiber core quantity and line importance level in communication projects.
