China imposes anti-dumping duties on single-mode optical fiber imported from India.

Previously, on August 13, 2014, and August 13, 2020, the Ministry of Commerce issued announcements imposing anti-dumping duties on imported single-mode optical fiber originating from India, each for a period of five years. Following investigation, the Ministry of Commerce determined that if the anti-dumping measures were terminated, dumping of imported single-mode optical fiber originating from India into China might continue or recur, and the damage to China's single-mode optical fiber industry might continue or recur. In accordance with Article 50 of the Anti-dumping Regulations, the Ministry of Commerce, based on the investigation results, submitted a recommendation to the State Council Tariff Commission to continue implementing the anti-dumping measures. The State Council Tariff Commission, based on the Ministry of Commerce's recommendation, decided that, starting from August 14, 2026, anti-dumping duties would continue to be levied on imported single-mode optical fiber originating from India for a period of five years. The scope of products subject to the anti-dumping duties is the same as that previously applied to the anti-dumping measures, consistent with the product scope of the Ministry of Commerce's Announcements No. 56 of 2014 and No. 29 of 2020. According to the provisions of Announcement No. 56 of 2014 and Announcement No. 29 of 2020 issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the anti-dumping duty rates levied on the companies are as follows: Sterlite Technologies Limited: 7.4%; Birla Furukawa Fibre Optics Limited: 11.4%; Corning Technologies India Private Limited: 24.5%; Aksh Optifibre Limited: 30.6%; Finolex Cables Limited: 30.6%; Other Indian companies: 24.5%.
