Currently, the technology for ducted fiber optic cables is quite mature; going forward, the development of these cables will focus on enhancing transmission efficiency and network resilience.
With the continuous advancement of fiber optic communication technology, the transmission capacity of individual cables has increased significantly, enabling high-speed, high-capacity data transmission. In the future, technologies such as ultra-low-loss fibers and space-division multiplexing will become key areas of research and development, aimed at supporting the increasingly complex communication demands of emerging technologies like 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The development of intelligent duct management systems will leverage big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enable real-time monitoring and fault prediction for fiber optic networks, thereby improving maintenance efficiency. AI-based methods for monitoring the installation status of ducted cables already exist; by capturing cable vibration signals and constructing anomaly detection models based on mechanical equilibrium equations and spatiotemporal features, these methods can identify cable anomalies in real time, thereby enhancing the safety, stability, and construction efficiency of cable installation operations.
